Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Military Blue' (2024)
The Air Jordan 4 was designed by Tinker Hatfield and first released in 1989, becoming the first Jordan model to achieve a global release. Its mesh side panels, plastic support wings, and visible heel Air unit made it one of the most technically advanced basketball shoes of its era. The Military Blue was one of the four original colourways released in 1989, alongside the White Cement, Fire Red, and Bred. It has since been retroed in 2006 and 2012, with the 2024 edition marking the most faithful reissue to the original specifications.
The Military Blue colourway is one of the four original 1989 Air Jordan 4 colour schemes. An off-white leather upper sits alongside neutral grey nubuck overlays on the forefoot, while military blue accents appear on the molded eyelets, heel tab, midsole detailing, and Jumpman tongue branding. Blue mesh beneath black netting on the quarter panels adds depth, and Nike Air branding in white on the heel completes the OG aesthetic.
Off-white leather upper with neutral grey nubuck forefoot overlays for a premium, structured construction. Encapsulated Air-Sole forefoot unit and visible Air bag in the heel for responsive, lightweight cushioning. Military blue molded eyelets, heel tab, and Jumpman branding for the signature OG colour blocking. Nike Air branding on the heel for the first time since the original 1989 release. White, blue, and grey rubber outsole for reliable multi-surface traction.
Fit: Adult sizes (UK 6-12) run true to size. We recommend ordering your usual UK size. Grade School sizes (UK 3-6) run true to size; half a size up recommended for wider feet or a looser fit.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro Military Blue is for sneaker enthusiasts and collectors who want to own one of the original 1989 Air Jordan 4 colourways in its most authentic form. The off-white, blue, and grey palette makes it a versatile option for those who prefer lighter, cleaner colourways over the darker options in the Jordan 4 lineup. Available in both GS and adult sizing, it is accessible to a wide range of sneaker fans.
The Military Blue 4 works best with clean, simple outfits that let the colourway speak for itself. It pairs well with light wash denim, white or cream joggers, khaki cargo pants, or navy trousers. The off-white and blue palette lends itself to spring and summer fits, while the neutral grey accents keep it grounded enough for year-round wear.
The Military Blue sits alongside the White Cement, Fire Red, and Bred as one of the four original 1989 Air Jordan 4 colourways. Compared to the White Cement, the Military Blue offers a bolder colour accent through its blue detailing while maintaining a similarly clean white base. For anyone choosing between this and the 2024 White Thunder, the Military Blue provides OG heritage and Nike Air heel branding, while the White Thunder offers a more modern, monochromatic black and white aesthetic.
Adult sizes (UK 6-12) run true to size. We recommend ordering your usual UK size. For Grade School sizes (UK 3-6), we also recommend true to size, but if you have wider feet or prefer a looser fit, consider going half a size up.
The 2024 edition is the most faithful reissue to date, featuring Nike Air branding on the heel for the first time since the original 1989 release. The 2006 and 2012 retros used the Jumpman logo instead. The 2024 version also uses the updated Air Jordan 4 mold for improved proportions and fit.
When Jordan Brand officially previewed the 2024 release, they referred to the colourway as "Industrial Blue" rather than "Military Blue." However, the box label still reads "Military Blue." Both names refer to the same colourway and the sneaker community continues to use Military Blue as the primary name.
We recommend using a soft brush or damp cloth with mild soap to clean the leather upper. For the off-white panels, a dedicated sneaker cleaner helps remove scuffs and maintain the clean base colour. Avoid soaking or machine washing, and allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
