The ASICS Gel-1130 draws directly on the Gel-Kayano 14's design language, sharing the layered overlay construction and Tiger Stripe panelling that define ASICS' early 2000s performance runners. It was pulled back as a lifestyle model during the technical running revival and quickly became one of the most widely worn shoes in the category. It now sits alongside the Gel-NYC and Gel-Kayano 14 as a core part of the ASICS retro line.
The Black Glacier Grey colourway sets a black mesh upper under black synthetic leather overlays that wrap the toe, midfoot and heel counter. Silver Tiger Stripes run across both side panels as the main point of contrast, matched by silver ASICS branding at the heel and grey detailing at the tongue and lace panel. A black midsole and black rubber outsole complete the tonal build.
GEL cushioning in the heel for dependable impact protection. TRUSSTIC stability system through the midfoot for structural support. Breathable mesh upper layered with synthetic leather overlays at the toe, midfoot and heel. Durable rubber outsole for confident multi-surface traction. Padded collar and tongue for a secure, comfortable fit.

The Black Glacier Grey Gel-1130 suits anyone who wants the retro runner shape in a colourway that disappears into an outfit rather than leading it. The blacked-out base is the most practical execution in the range for everyday and winter wear, and the silver Tiger Stripes keep it from reading as a plain black trainer. GEL cushioning also makes it comfortable enough for long days on foot.
The Black Glacier Grey Gel-1130 is about as easy as retro runners get, working with black or charcoal joggers, dark denim and cargos without needing anything built around it. The blacked-out base also means it holds up better than pale colourways through winter and wet weather.
The Gel-1130 sits alongside the Gel-Kayano 14, Gel-NYC and New Balance 860 in the retro technical running category. Compared to the Gel-Kayano 14, the 1130 runs slightly slimmer with a lower stack, making it the easier of the two to wear with tapered trousers. Against the Gel-NYC, it is the more understated option, with less pronounced layering and a cleaner side profile.
Yes, the Gel-1130 runs true to size. We recommend ordering your usual UK size. The mesh upper provides a comfortable fit without being too tight or too loose.
GEL is ASICS' cushioning technology, using a silicone-based gel unit in the heel to absorb impact and reduce shock through the foot. It is paired here with a TRUSSTIC system through the midfoot, which adds structural stability without adding weight.
This colourway is stocked in UK 7 to UK 10.5, which covers standard men's sizing. The shoe is unisex by design, so anyone whose size falls within that range can wear it.
We recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid putting them in the washing machine as this can damage the synthetic overlays and mesh upper. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
